Seasoned Skewers by Callisons Fine Foods
Topic: Tips
How does it work?
The skewers release natural oils and herbal extracts into the food as it cooks-infusing your food with flavor.

Do you have to soak the skewers?
No, but you can.The skewers are ready to go, straight from the package. Soaking will help keep some of the oils from burning off of the skewers if they are exposed to open flame. And, depending on what you soak them in, it can also add to the flavor of the skewers.

How long do you leave the food on the skewers before cooking?
The longer you leave the food on the skewer before cooking, the more intense the flavor will be. We recommend starting with ten to fifteen minutes.

Are the skewers re-usable?
No. Once you’ve cooked with them, the flavorful oils have been released into your food. Please discard after use.

Are they filled with chemicals?
No! Seasoned Skewers are 100% natural. They get their flavor from herbal extracts and natural oils.

Once opened, how long will unused skewers last?
If you don’t use the skewers the same day you open them, put them in a sealed plastic bag in the fridge. They’ll last several months.

Additional Skewer Tips:
For more potency and added flavor, soak Seasoned Skewers in liquid such as water, beer, wine or sake for 10 to 15 minutes before using.

If soaking more than one flavor of Seasoned Skewers, do not combine in the same soaking liquid.

Be sure to let your skewered food sit for at least 10 minutes before cooking.

To prevent skewers from sticking to the grill, preheat the grill well and then lightly oil the outside of your food before cooking.

Seasoned Skewers are perfect for lean meats, poultry or vegetables and add big flavor without the salt for those on a low-sodium diet.

If the tips of your skewers start to burn when grilling, just wrap the ends in a little foil.

Seasoned Skewers aren’t just for grilling. Load them up with your favorite foods and then pan sear, bake, roast-cook any way you like!
