Pomegranates - How to Peel
To soften the skin, place the pomegranate into boiling water for a short time, remove it, and then cool it down with a cold-water rinse to prevent further cooking. Fill your kitchen sink with water. Open the pomegranate under the water to prevent the juicy seeds from squirting all over. Hold the pomegranate under water as you gently dislodge the seeds from the skin and membrane. The seeds will float to the surface and can be scooped up in a strainer and drained. Store them in an airtight container in the fridge for later use.
