When I moved here from Romania three years ago, I couldn’t have dreamt I would have found such a great opportunity. I’ve got the best job here. I get paid to find the best wines and beers anywhere. Who wouldn’t love that?
I tell people, that Romania is very similar to Oregon. We have high mountains and beautiful valleys and a great selection of wine, too. But what I love about Bend is the amount of people who also appreciate the intricacies of good wine, craft brews, and tasty cuisine.

The fun part is making sure that I continue to be the best resource for you and anyone who asks at Newport Ave. Market. Knowing how the 2006 vintage of Tyrus Evan Syrah compares to its 2003 counterpart requires expertise. And, that’s just one of the thousands of wines we review and consider at Newport Ave. Market. But that’s why I love this job. It’s a continuous learning process to appreciate the nuances of a good Rose’, Pouilly Fuisse, Cabernet or Syrah. Or, to savor the difference between a Dopplebach and a Pilsner. I take pride in really understanding how each kind of beer and vintage of wine varies so that I can readily pick out a great drink for any occasion. My personal favorites have to be California wines; especially Pahlmeyer's 2004 Napa Valley Red. But that’s just me. Whatever you like, even if you don’t know what you like, stop by and we can find something just for you. I can help plan wine parties or pair a hearty meal with a fantastic amber ale.
