I’m
pretty picky about the quality of meat in my department. I want our
customers to serve meals their families will rave about, and meat is a
big part of it.
That’s one of the reasons we’ve exclusively sold Oregon Country Beef
for many years. One of the family-owned producers of Oregon Country
Beef is a ranch near Prineville. They raise all-natural beef, and it’s
important to us to support their sustainable ranching practices. We
grind our hamburger fresh every day, and I use Oregon Country Beef in my favorite prime rib recipe. I think Oregon Country Beef is the best.
In fact, it’s the only beef we sell.
Selling the best is why we get lamb all the way from New Zealand, super
tender lamb with a wonderful, mild flavor. And it’s why I buy pork from
Carlton Farms near McMinnville, Oregon. They don’t use additives or
“plump up” their pork with water like some commercial pork, so it
always cooks up juicy and flavorful.
Our chicken from Draper Valley Farms in Washington is the only
free-range chicken in the U.S. to receive a 100-percent clean bill of
health from Consumer Reports. That’s why we carry it.
We get really high-grade fish from Hawaii, including great choices like
ahi and opah, and all of our seafood comes in the store several times a
week. It’s so fresh you can practically smell the salt water on it!
We’ve got good recipes, great tips and quality meats. Stop by and see
me or any of my staff. We’ll help you make a meal to remember!
